Adidas Shoes - All About

Filed under: Adidas Shoes — webmaster @ 4:28 pm

Adidas, a name that was derived from the first two syllables of it’s founder Adi Dassler. It was way back in 1920 when Adi Dassler made his first shoes in his workshop in Herzogenaurach near Nuremberg in Germany.

Being a passionate athlete himself, his vision was to provide every athlete with the best footwear possible for each respective discipline.  With this in mind, he followed three guiding principles in his work development: produce the best shoe that meets the requirements of the sport, protect the athletes from injury, and make the product durable.

The first shoe that he made was a pair of Adidas running shoes.  Five years later, he developed the first Adidas soccer shoes and special Adidas track and field shoes.  It was also then when studs and spikes were introduced for the first time.  Hence, different Adidas shoes for different distances using state-of the-art materials were constructed to achieve a saving in weight.

In 1928, Adidas shoes has been used in the Olympics for the first time.  Four years later, the first Adidas tennis shoes were made.  From then on, Adidas has made it’s mark in the Olympics being worn by successful athletes bringing home the glory.
The three stripes which became an unmistakable identifying symbol, was registered in 1949 as an Adidas trademark.  A year later, the first of the Samba all-round soccer shoes were launched in the market.  The Samba is still considered and regarded as the classic all-round training shoe in the market today.
In 1954, Adidas made it to the World Cup.  Eventually, track shoes with removable spikes and screw-in studs were introduced adapting each player’s shoes to the grounds conditions.

In 1964, Adidas introduced the “Tokio 64” considered to be the lightest shoe ever made weighing only 135 grams per shoe.  Three years later, the first Adidas sports apparel with the ever popular Three Stripes of course, was produced.
Adidas is also the first company in the world to produce the injection-moulded multi-stud soles of polyurethane in 1964, giving a one-year guarantee on the sole.  It was also in the same year when the first jogging shoe “Achill” was launched.

Indeed, Adidas has been a name that stands for competence in all sport sectors around the world.

Football Cleats Buying Guide

Filed under: General — webmaster @ 5:20 pm

by Maria Rita Bihis
Shoedeals4u.com Editor
Football is a high impact sport requiring fleet footwork for approximately seven to ten times of your body weight are transferred to your feet.  It is also a very demanding sport that combines speed, agility and precision.  Not surprising why football cleats have been designed to be more aggressive than other types of cleated shoes.  They have also been made to match the player’s position and field type as well.

Like soccer cleats, the upper of football cleats are made from either leather or synthetic material.  Leather is considered to be very durable with superior breathability and flexibility thus making it more expensive than synthetics.  Synthetics, however, does not become stiff and out of shape when they become wet and improperly dried although it won’t give you the breathability and durability provided by leather.  Cost-wise though, it has gained much of an advantage for it is less expensive than leather.

Football cleats also comes in three different heights or styles to suit each player’s position and needs, namely: high-top, mid-cut and low-cut.
High-top football cleats are often used by linemen for it’s ankle extension provides extra ankle support especially for lateral movements.  There are a lot of Adidas football cleats out in the market today that could get the job done.

Mid-cut football cleats are preferred by most skilled players specifically defensive backs, running backs, wide receivers and quarterbacks for they combine maneuverability with support.  Mid-cut Nike football cleats are some of the top picks belonging to this style.
Low-cut football cleats, on the other hand, are the best choice for some players for they are lightweight with the most maneuverability thus allowing them to make quick cuts on the field.  So, if you favor the lightest shoe providing extra maneuverability, a pair of Reebok football cleats could be your best bet.

There are also two types of cleat types depending on the type of field that you will play on, namely: molded and detachable.
Molded cleats are attached permanently to the outsole on the bottom of the shoes and are often used by players who use turf fields for they provide spring and traction and a better grip on harder turf surfaces.  They are also generally cheaper than shoes with detachable cleats.

Detachable cleats, on the other hand, with it’s versatility can be used to fit various field conditions on all types of grass, be it hard and dry or wet and sloppy.  It uses studs that can be removed and replaced with a wrench so you can customize your shoes easily.  Shorter studs can be used for hard and dry surfaces and longer studs on wet and sloppy fields.

Work Boots - All About

Filed under: General — webmaster @ 6:21 pm

by Maria Rita Bihis

Boots are indeed made for working for they are built sturdy enough not only to protect your feet but to cover and support your ankles and shins as well. Selecting the type of boot to buy should be appropriate with the kind of work that you do.

Caterpillar Men's Second Shift Work Boots

There are different types of work boots and they are listed below as follows:

- Leather is the most popular choice for it’s durability and water resistance.- Waterproof leather or waterproof membrane protection to keep your feet dry while working.- Steel toe work boots are an ideal choice in many industrial situations for they are specifically designed to protect your feet from common machinery hazards, such as falling or rolling objects, and from cuts and punctures. The insole and entire shoe box are reinforced with steel to provide insulation against tempreature extremes and may be equipped with special soles to guard against slipping and chenical or electrical hazards. Best suited for those who work in constructions or jobs that entails working around heavy objects.- Electrical hazard boots are designed with a properly inuslated steel toe and no conductive materials to prevent those working with electricity from electrical hazards.- Insulated work boots are ideal to keep your feet warm when you work in the cold, wet conditions.- Foundry, or “gaiter”-style work boots are often used in welding operations for it has the quick-release fasteners or elasticized insets feature that allows speedy removal of any hazardous substance that might get into the boot itself.- Slip-resistant work boots as the name suggests, will prevent you from slipping when working on slippery floors.- Traditional black leather military boots with a leather upper and hard sole.- Cowboy boots mostly seen these days in fashion and at workEvidently, there are not a lot of work boot choices out there but whatever your specific requirements are, make sure to check the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) label inside each shoe and find out if it meets the established safety standards.

Also, the heavier the weight of the work boots, the better for the weight relates to the density of the rubber sole and the construction of the shoe. Heavier boots will last longer for lighter boots are made up of less durable materials that compress more. It also eliminates pressure in specific areas that can lead to pain since it disperses the weight evenly on the bottom of your foot.

Running Shoes Buying Guide

Filed under: General — webmaster @ 6:58 pm

by Maria Rita Bihis

Did you make a list of new year’s resolutions for this year? Is losing weight or keeping yourself in shape on top of that list? Then running is one of the best forms of exercise that you could engage in for you to be able to achieve your goal.  And a good pair of running shoes should come with that.

Running shoes are the most important piece of equipment that every runner should have.  You don’t want to stop yourself from running just because you put so much stress on your feet that it moved all the way up to your hips and lower back.  This is a common problem if you did not find the shoe that matches with your running style and foot shape for these are the two most important factors that you should look into when searching for a good pair of running shoes.

Running shoes have three basic components: the outsole, the midsole and the upper.
The outsole is the bottom of the shoe made up of either carbon or blown rubber with flex groove or split heel construction to enhance traction on softer surfaces.

The midsole is the most important part of the running shoe as it is the cushioning and stability layer between the outsole and the upper.  Cushioning may be made up of Ethylene Vinyl acetate (EVA), Polyurethane (PU) or both.  Stability provided by stiff materials used in some shoes on the medial or inner side of the shoe to prevent excessive inward rolling of the foot and pronation reduction usually in the medial post or footbridge form or by heavier densities of cushioning materials for increased shoe stability.
The upper is that soft body of the shoe that wraps around and over the top of the foot made up either leather or synthetic material consisting of the basic shape of the shoe called the last which is composed of three categories: straight, semi-straight and curved; the front part of the shoe called the toe box; the heel counter which is made up of either plastic and composite material built into the upper to surround the heel.  It provides stability and motion control of the rear foot.

And the groove in the back of the heel collar called the Achilles notch which protects the Achilles tendon and prevents it from irritation.
Running shoe companies like Adidas, Nike, New Balance, Saucony and Reebok have invested so much money in technological enhancements just to satisfy each runner’s style, pattern and features.  There are three basic running patterns or biomechanical tendencies, namely: pronated, supinated and neutral and each one is associated with a certain foot type: flat foot, high-arched and ideal.

Nike Men's Air Max 180+ Running

 Nike Air Max 180+ Running

The first step is to determine your foot type.  Almost 60% of the population are flat footed wherein the pronated foot rolls inwards at the ankle and the midfoot bulges inward and the longitudinal arch flattens.  Thus it is the most common cause of foot injury when done excessively.  So, look for a pair of Adidas running shoes or Nike running shoes with a medial post and straight or semi-curved last for stability and maximum support of the inside of your feet, a dense, durable polyurethane midsole and a carbon rubber outsole for greater durability.

Saucony ProGrid Triumph 4
Saucony ProGrid Triumph 4
30% of the population on the other hand, have high-arched/supinated feet wherein the foot is rigid, rolls outward and are very poor shock absorbers.  If you belong to this group, look for a pair of New Balance running shoes or Saucony running shoes with a semi-curved or curved last, EVA or compressed EVA midsole and a softer, lighter outsole with a greater flexibility.
The last 10% belongs to those who have neutral/ideal feet wherein the foot will land on the outside of the heel and then roll slightly inward for shock absorption.   This will be determined by the amount of excessive pronation or supination present.  Be sure to look for running shoes with a straight or semi-curved last, moderate cushioning and a durable carbon rubber outsole.

For a perfect fitting pair of running shoes, see Tips on How to Find your Shoe Size.
Keep in mind that your shoes doesn’t last forever so look at the soles of your shoes and replace them if you have to.  Running shoes should be replaced every 400-500 miles or every six months.  Visit shoedeals4u.com and say goodbye to those worn out pair.  Shoedeals4u.com offers the best selection in running shoes online at a very affordable price. How To Buy Soccer Shoes

Soccer Shoes Buying Guide
Posted by Maria Rita Bihis

Wanna be the next David Beckham? Follow his footsteps by starting it off with getting yourself the right pair of soccer shoes

Soccer shoes also known as soccer cleats or soccer footwear have been customized and improved over the years to fit the weather, field and player style.  Designed specifically for the sport of soccer, innovations have undoubtedly been stylistic and glamorous that the upper material has been enhanced from the traditional leather to synthetics with the adaptation and incorporation of synthetic polymers.
Synthetic uppers, so they claim, has it’s edge over leather in as far as durability is concerned for aside from giving the player total ball control and superior ball feel for being lightweight, they do not become stiff and out of shape when they become wet and improperly dried eventhough it’s credibility in decreasing the rate of injury is still in question.  Out in the market for example are the latest Nike soccer shoes with external heel counters for added stability and heel fit, midsoles designed to enhance cushioning and outsoles designed for optimal traction and the new Adidas soccer shoes which have been created to be unlike anything else in the field with slip-in, sock-like construction for enhanced fit.

Still, nothing beats getting a good deal on a new pair of soccer shoes.  Investing all your money on a new pair of Nike, Adidas, Puma or Lotto soccer shoes may not be reasonable especially for children as they will only be outgrown by them each year.  It doesn’t really have to be very expensive as long as it fits good, provides adequate support and meets the team regulations.

Hit it off during the summer before the season starts and look for regulation soccer cleats, soles of which should be made of rubber, since other sports footwear are not allowed in soccer. There are different types of soccer cleats, all of which are available at shoedeals4u.com, namely: molded cleats, detachable cleats, indoor shoes, turf shoes and sandals.
Molded cleats resemble the basic soccer shoe design made of non-removable rubber or hard plastic formed on the bottom of the shoe for optimal traction and control.  This may be used on all field types and in all weather conditions making it ideal for beginners and players on the intermediate level.  It is so safe that it has been required by many youth programs.

Nike Men's Total 90 III FG Soccer shoes

Nike Men’s Total 90 III FG Soccer

Detachable cleats vary in length and are usually made of hard plastic or plastic with metal tips.  It is ideal for experienced players who can tailor the cleats depending on the field type and weather condition.  The studs’ length and type can also be altered based on the said conditions since it can be screwed on and off and replaced easily. This type is more appropriate to use on wet, soggy fields, or on well-groomed, soft grass fields.
Turf shoes are basically good training shoes providing a back-up game pair for hard-surface conditions and on artificial turf as the bottom contains various raised patterns instead of studs.
Indoor shoes are similar to low-cut sneakers or cross trainers.  They are specifically designed for playing indoors in a gym or recreational facility for the flat, rubbery type bottom provides better traction on indoor courts or fields.  On artificial turfs however they are preferred and required so that the turf won’t be torn up.

Sandals are worn before the game to preserve your soccer shoes from additional wear.  It slips on easily even if your socks and shin guards are on and will allow your feet to breathe after a game.  A must have for any player.
When trying on a new pair, make sure to wear them with the socks and shin guards that you will be using in practice and at games.  You should feel the way each item matches it’s fit with the others.  And when measuring, the wearer’s toe should come within the width of a thumb with the end of the shoe when the wearer is standing.  See Tips on How to Find Your Shoe Size for a perfect fitting soccer cleat.
Also, it is common knowledge that girls and women’s feet are narrower than boys and men’s.  However, there are a few exceptions.  So, for girls and women who have wider feet, boys and men’s cleats might probably fit them better.  Boys and men, on the other hand who have narrower feet can wear girls and women’s cleats.  Don’t worry, it won’t make you less of a man if you do so.

And it’s not so much of a hassle since all you have to do is visit shoedeals4u.com and click on the shoe of your choice.

Remember that the key to becoming a good player lies in buying the right pair of soccer shoes for a perfect fit will prevent foot injuries thereby leading to a player’s absolute enjoyment of the game.  Click here and check on the latest in soccer footwear and gears at shoedeals4u.com.

TIPS ON HOW TO FIND YOUR SHOE SIZE

Filed under: General — webmaster @ 7:16 pm

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR FOOT

Posted by Maria Rita Bihis

Size matters not according to Yoda. Not so true especially when it comes to shoes. For you don’t want it too small as it may cause you foot pains and problems or too large as it can cause blistering and lack of stability.

Determining your proper shoe size is essential to a comfortable fit. All you need is a piece of paper larger than your foot, a pencil, a tape and a ruler. Just follow these steps:

1. Tape the paper down to the floor. 2. At the end of the day when your feet are at it’s largest, place your foot, naturally stretched, on the paper. For more accurate results, sit on a chair with your foot firmly on the floor, and your leg bent slightly forward so that your shin is slightly in front of your ankle. 3. With the pencil in an upright position and perpendicular to the paper, mark the back of your heel and the tip of your longest toe and then trace the outline of your foot. Remember to wear the socks that you’ll wear with your new shoes when you measure. 4. With the ruler, measure the tracing to determine your foot length and width. · To find your foot length, measure the distance between the two longest points on your tracing. Reduce this number by 5 mm, or 1/5 inch. The result is your foot length and the number that you will use to determine your shoe size. To convert inches to centimeters, multiply inches by 2.54. · To find your foot width, measure the widest points on your tracing. Reduce this number by 5 mm, or 1/5 inch. The result is the number you will use to determine your foot width. 5. Repeat these steps for your other foot, and use the larger of the two. 6. Once your measurements are done, click here and match it with the corresponding size. Now that you know your shoe size, it’s time to look for the right shoes to match your needs. Shoedeals4u.com offers a wide variety of famous, top designer brand shoes and accessories that you can choose from.
